WE'RE PASSIONATE ABOUT OUR FOOD
Since moving to the USA from Syria, Tony and Iptisam have been involved in the food industry. Tony focused on American cuisine and Iptisam worked for a number of caterers, preparing and cooking Arabic food but, they have always dreamed of opening their own place where they could utilize their talents to the full and produce food, prepared using their own family's recipes that have been handed down through the generations.
Both Tony and Iptisam come from the mountainous, coastal region of Syria known for millennia as the "Valley of the Christians." This region is one of the most favorite tourist destinations in Syria because of its scenery, climate, apple orchards, and abundance of restaurants. It is also home to one of the largest collections of medieval castles in the world due to the Crusader wars that took place there.
The region is famous for its grilled meat, hummus, baba ganoush, tabouli, falafel, and much more. Many of the recipes are vegetarian and vegan that used there during fasting periods such as Lent, Christmas, etc., and at other times, they're used to accompany grilled meat dishes but, they are substantial meals in their own right as they often include beans, lentils and other proteins and are ideal for a vegetarian or vegan main course.
The food produced at Georges is all home-made, using their own family's recipies. The flavors are authentic and delicious due to the unique blend of spices and herbs used in each dish. If you want to eat food with the same taste and flavor you'd experience on a trip to the Middle East, you are at the right place!
However, they both know you can have too much of a good thing! That's why they also serve delicious steak and chicken hoagies, gyros, assorted cold-cut and hamburger sandwiches, and fries.
If you want to savor something uniquely different, please visit us in Ambridge... you'll be glad you did!
